Alexis Ferrer’s New Collection ‘Sublime’ Combines Elegance And Experimentation

Alexis Ferrer has come back with a new collection, this time evolving his hair printing technique with clear oriental inspiration.

For this creative process of ‘Sublime’, the hairdresser was inspired by the luxurious wallpapers of the late 19th century, with the arrival of the Rococo Chinoiserie style in Europe, as he manages to unite the East’s exoticism with the French aesthetic.

“This collection speaks of the future, formed by two worlds that coexist, the real and the virtual. The latter is lived with great intensity by the younger generations, who find in it the possibility of bringing their vision to the world, a visual fantasy that ends up permeating reality,” he said in a statement. “’Sublime’’ presents visual stimuli from design and fantasy that are reflected in our daily lives. In our collections, we want to show the result of the dialogue between craftsmanship and technology to create elements that will write the future.

Thanks to the innovation with which this technique has grown, hair can now be washed, ironed, and worked to give it the desired intention without the impression disappearing. It is ready to bring the static image into real life, opening up new possibilities for wearing printed designs in hair for any occasion in life. It is about integrating into the environment itself, expressing our emotions through hair with unique and personalized prints. A new way to expand our individuality, sending messages that connect us with others. The hairdresser is known for being a free and limitless creator. His work has pushed the boundaries of what he can create with it, crossing the limits of beauty with various techniques and transforming hair to feathers or flowers. It was in 2012 when Ferrer started experimenting with photographic printing on hair, creating his first collection titled ‘Echo’. At the beginning of 2020, he went from making the prints with photographic ink to generating them digitally. In July that year, Ferrer created another collection ‘La Favorite,” includes includes intricate flower patterns printed in the hair. It was inspired Chris Appleton, Hollywood’s celebrity hairstylist, to create a version for Jennifer Lopez, according to a press release. The imprinted hair can now be washed, ironed, and worked without disappearance.
